5 out of 5 stars everyone needs one   September 1, 2010
5=KH5: (PA)
this towel does work! I bought it for myself to clean up messes around the house, f.e my baby always spills smth. And I was tired of buying paper towels all the time. My husband actually made fun of me the day I got this towel in our mail, he said that I am so addicted to Amazon I 'll buy anything even a silly towel. Sort of making it sound like i bought it just because I wanted to buy smth on amazon. well...now he uses it all the time! mainly when he washes our cars . He actually stole it from me. now I have to buy one for myself.
And this towel is really a must for people with little babies...My son (when not in diaper even for one minute) will find an opportunity to pee on the floor or carpet. and this towel absorbs every little drop and leaves the carpet very dry. Absolutely a MUST item to have.

5 out of 5 stars The Absorber Soaks up a TON of water!!   August 3, 2010

The only product of it's kind I will buy. I've been using them for over 20 years and they work fantastic. Great to keep on the boat.

5 out of 5 stars Going strong after 20 years   July 30, 2010

I am still using the same absorber chamois after 20 years. It works just as well as day one. I do not understand people who gave this product a 1 star or 2 star rating. They don't know what they are talking about and certainly do not know how to read instructions on how to use this product and how to care for this product.
I used to have 2 of the absorber, but I lost one by letting it dry out. Once it is dried out it will never have it drying property back. The absorber is easy to clean. Simply rub the soiled area as you would dirty clothes under running water. Do not use soap. Soap will also reduce the absorbing ability of the absorber.
Finally store the absorber in its original plastic container with water. I usually keep the container in the bucket I used to wash the car. That way the water in the absorber container does not make a mess. It can stay in the container for several months if you added enough water.

5 out of 5 stars Ideal car drying cloth for 10 YEARS and going...   July 27, 2010

I have been using THE ABSORBER for the last 10 years with zero problems.

My philosophy is that if you spend your time washing your car, the job can become a complete waste if you have the annoying 'water spots' caused by hard water. 5 minutes with THE ABSORBER perfectly dries your car with ease.

I have been washing my car roughly 2 times a month for the last 10 years and have yet to have a problem with this product. The finish on my car is pristine and my 7 year old Chevrolet may be getting old, but the paint/finish sparkles just as is it did on the day I picked it up from the lot. I even use the cloth for a few days after I washed my car to get rid of any morning dew to prevent water streaks.

One good suggestion is that after you're done drying, spray THE ABSORBER with the hose and ring it out to ensure all heavy debris is removed from the product. I always roll it up neatly in the form that I purchased it in and always store it in the container. It will feel slightly moist every time you take it out, but that lets me know that it's still working.

From the looks of these reviews people suggest putting it in the washer/dishwasher to clean but honestly I have yet to try this out in the last 10 years (oops?) but it still seems perfectly clean.

Buy at least one of these or 2+ if you want to keep it in handy places.

4 out of 5 stars Good for drying a washed car   July 21, 2010

I purchased this cloth with the intent of drying my car after I have washed it. I have very hard water and when I want my car to look nice I have to dry it or I get little hard water spots all over the place.

Drying my car with "The Absorber" does solve that problem and it does absorb quite a lot of water. It squeezes out easy and stores quite well in the container it comes in. I have used it a number of times and am generally happy with it.

I should mention it is does not perfectly get every last bit of water. But it dries to the point where the residual water evaporates in a minute or so. I consider that pretty good and my goal of not having water spots is met so I'm a happy camper. I would buy another one if I needed it :)
